IIE-PGDME : Support Facilities

Situated away from the din and bustle of the city IIE can boast of having an infrastructure matched by very few institutes in India. IIE campus is spread over an area of 2.65 acres, with 12,000sq. meter office building. The Institute now has

five air-conditioned Seminar Halls, and centrally air-conditioned 200 persons capacity auditorium, well equipped classrooms and video conferencing facility.

The Institute is located at Lalmati, Basistha Chariali, 37 National Highway Bypass, Guwahati -29. It is 0.5 km from Basistha Chariali, 5 km from Dispur Capital complex, 10 km from Guawhati Railway Station and 30 km from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi (Guawhati) Airport. Library

The Institute has a library and a Documentation Centre. Institute's library is well stocked with latest books, publications, magazines and journals related to small industry and entrepreneurship.

It has about 15000 books and bound volumes. The Institute subscribes to more than 125 Indian and foreign journals and periodicals that are valuable source of information for entrepreneurs, extensions agents and professionals and in the field of entrepreneurship and small industry. It provides membership on nominal charge. Institute's library has been recognised as Ph.D research library by the Guwahati University.

Documentation Centre

Documentation Service
The Institute has a documentation centre. It collects, stores and disseminates information useful for small industry promotion and entrepreneurship. It brings out a weekly Current Awareness Service. Other services available are Newspaper Clippings, Topical Bibliography, SDI services etc.

A state of the art Information Technology Centre has been set up with the help of CMC Ltd, Kolkata. The Centre is going to be the nerve-centre for storage, analysis and retrieval of every kind of information related to the industrial

and entrepreneurial arena of India in general and the North-East in particular.

The institute building has been networked with state of the art local area network (LAN)

At present Library & Documentation and Finance & Accounting departments have computerised. The Institute has already launched its website- www.iie.nic.in.

Work on an Industrial Data Bank which will collect, collate, store and analyse information related to the industry and entrepreneurs is going on. Hostel

The Institute has a sprawling hostel with 42 single rooms with attached bathrooms. Hostel rooms are fully furnished. There are also air-conditioned rooms. There are facilities for Indoor games like Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis etc.

The Hostel also has the facility of a Television Room with cable connection. The Institute runs a canteen which serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.

Auditorium

IIE auditorium has been designed based on local handicrafts items with sitting capacity of 200 person at a time. It is centrally air-conditioned with latest inbuilt sound and lighting system and a stage for any type of function.
